This engineering estimate does not replace magnetic FEA or sample testing. Geometry, steel saturation, coating stack, fixture, magnetization state, and nearby ferromagnetic parts can change the measured result.

  • Field is calculated on the magnetized axis at the entered distance from the magnet face.
  • Pull force is a direct-contact estimate against a thick, flat steel target; a thin plate can saturate and reduce the force.
  • Temperature changes the remanence estimate and does not include irreversible loss from overheating or opposing fields.
  • Rings, radial or diametrical magnetization, soft magnetic circuits, and back iron require a drawing review or magnetic FEA.
