Define what the magnetic face must attract

A flexible magnetic sheet may attach to suitable ferromagnetic steel, interact with another magnetic component, or convert a nonmagnetic printed or molded item into a removable magnetic object. These are not equivalent. Define the mating material, thickness, coating, flatness, area, gap, orientation, movement, and allowed slip or peel.

Do not assume two magnetic sheets will align or attract correctly. Pole pattern, pole pitch, face orientation, and construction can produce attraction, weak coupling, or repulsion. Test the exact pair.

Thickness, flexibility and cut geometry work together

Thickness can change magnetic output, bending behavior, weight, edge profile, converting limits, and roll handling. Small shapes, narrow bridges, holes, sharp corners, tight roll diameter, and laminated layers can create curl, cracking, liner movement, or dimensional variation. The finished construction and cut process should be approved together.

Bond the adhesive face to the real production substrate

The adhesive face may be applied to paperboard, printed graphics, metal, glass, plastic, coated components, or another substrate. Surface energy, texture, curvature, dust, oil, moisture, ink, paint, plasticizer, and cleaner residue matter. Define application pressure, temperature, dwell, assembly sequence, and when the part may be loaded.

Printing, laminating and packaging are part of the product

If the sheet is printed, laminated, dry-erase finished, or supplied with a decorative face, control artwork revision, color and surface standard, adhesion between layers, cut registration, edge appearance, and environmental compatibility. Packaging must protect flatness, liner, edges, print, and magnetic face without causing curl, blocking, telescoping, or contamination.
